Gamestream partners with Be Player One to realise the first national study on the video game access to people with disabilities.

A Study to understand and answer the needs of players with disabilities.

We estimate the proportion of the french population touched by a handicap to 15%. However, while 74% of french people from every generation play video games, and while all profiles are are represented and surveyed… we do not care so much to habits and needs of gaming enthusiasts living with a disability.
Be Player One, with the support of Gamestream wished through this huge study – a first in France – to gather information on habits and expectations of people with disabilities. It will allow to identify the hardware and software deficiency and then propose adapted technical solutions for everyone, sensitize and support the video game professionals and finally ease the consultation of video game accessibility functions.

As Maxime Viry, founder of Be Player One, reminds us, “through this study we intend to contribute to a better application of the 2005 law, which advocate an inclusive society, but sometimes forget to improve the participation of people with disabilities to certain leisure activities, such as video games,”

Karen Seror, CMO of Gamestream adds, “Gamestream’s vocation has always been to make the video games accessible to everyone, a vehicle for socialisation, inclusiveness and valorisation. A part of our activities is devoted to the therapeutic game distribution for the hospital world,”
